We are currently in the process of redesigning and updating our school's website and while we are going through this transitional phase please note that even though the information on this page is relevant, it is possible that a few details may be outdated.

In the meantime, the Class Pages section of this website will continue to be updated on a regular basis with home learning and other helpful resources.

Curriculum Provision

The Parks School children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum in line. Assessments are completed both ongoing throughout each day and week but also summatively three times per year.  Children take part in leanring activities based around the 3 prime areas of learning: Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Communication, Language and Literacy.  Then, if appropriate, the children take part in the 4 specific areas of learning: Literacy, Numeracy, Expressive Arts and Understanding the World.



Reading is part of our communication and language learning and involves a wide variety of 1:1 and small group sessions leading towards a systematic synthetic phonic scheme, Read Write Inc, as the children reach this level of development. The school enjoys free access to the resources of Oakham CE where there are a variety of reading resources which are banded according to the level of the text.
